Affiliate Fat Camp Goes Large
posted in A Moose's Life, Affiliate Marketing |
As some of you may know there was an experimental Affiliate Fat Camp in Portugal back in early June, where a few sacrificial lambs were sent to the slaughter, most of us lost a little weight, except for Matt Wood who suffered a little from lazyitis and was maybe a little surprised that Fat Camp was actually for real with the extra notch he had to release on his belt.
For those that initially attended we are intending to set up a joint blog & website dedicated to trimming the fat of portly affiliates to ensure we maintain some of the discipline we endured.
However upon discussion with Matt Wood, it has been initially agreed that Affiliate Fat Camp Goes Large in 2008 in association with the affiliates4u forum.
It will probably be held in Portugal for a period of 7 to 9 days and will be focused on lots of fun forms of exercise & activities, some not so fun, healthy nutrition & little boozing, though there will be plenty of social nights out if you have any energy remaining.
What we would initially like to do is ascertain interest & ideas for activities. If interest & participation is good then we could look at sponsors (a secondary consideration at this moment in time) and maybe having something big brother style or at least have some edited or live streaming footage.
Attendees at fat camp back in June were Clarke Duncan (Supercod), Mark Russell (Flipper), Shane Robinson (Michael Chiklis), Matthew Wood (“Lip Up Fatty Matty” – Readaption of Lyrics by Bad Manners)Â Paul Wheatley (Moose) & Zak Edwards (Skeletor).
There are a few pics on Clarke Duncan’s Facebook, though I think there are no endurance sea kayaking ones on there.
Sounds like absolute mental torture – being on “holiday” but having to exercise.
That’s great stuff – we’re starting a competition in the U.S. soon – the Affiliate Fit Club.
It won’t include the sort of getaway you guys are doing, but we’ll all post our successes or failures as we go along.
There will be two teams of 4-5 people each.
Anyhow, nice to see lots of us are trying to get on the right track with our health, as unpleasant as it may be. 🙂
Hi Paul
Was actually really good to be involved in fat camp this year and am looking forward to next year for my sins.
I must admit that certain people took it more serious than others and i must say that hidden bags of m&m’s in case was bad, you know who you are!!!!
Good luck with affiliate fit camp in US, maybe we can have that after about another 5 off these so we can actually say we are fit….lol
Cheers
Mark

We’re aiming to ge fit – not there now. Just cribbed the name from the VH1 show, Celebrity Fit Club. 😉
Hi Shawn, good luck with your event.
You never know we could end up with a bit of an “Affiliate Fat n Fit Ryder Cup” style tournament going on in the future.
Hi Paul,
Sounds like fun, and could certainly do with dropping a few pounds of lard!
I’m in denial, using old photos and staying away from get2gethers is a lot easier 🙂
Wish this had been now 🙂 as by next year I probably won’t qualify, plan on being 11½ stone by Christmas, should make it am halfway there (was 12st 11lb)
I’d be up for this!
